Hello! My name is Kaleigh (she/her). I grew up in a very small rural town in Ontario and completed an Honours Bachelor of Science at Queen’s University. Following that, I lived the “big city life” in downtown Toronto. It was in Toronto where my interest and belief in the midwifery profession grew stronger due to my experiences working and volunteering at midwifery clinics downtown and having the privilege to witness the care midwives gave their clients first-hand. These experiences lead me to complete the Midwifery Education Program at Ryerson University and I haven’t looked back since. I view midwifery as being a perfect intersection between feminism, social justice, and family-centered healthcare - all things I care deeply about. I feel incredibly honoured to be a part of this highly transitional time in the lives of pregnant and birthing people in our community. Outside of midwifery, my interests and hobbies include live music, knitting socks, baking tasty treats, and hanging with my husband and 17lb Chihuahua mix aptly named Moose. I look forward to meeting you! |
